Own a piece of Maltese History! Sir Maurice Henry Dorman GCMG GCVO DL (7 August 1912 – 26 October 1993) was the Colonial Governor of Malta and then became Governor-General of Malta from September 1964 until July 1971, when he was replaced by Sir Anthony Mamo. This book was signed by the author and inscribed/dedicated to Sir Maurice and Lady Dorman (dated February 1970). Inscription reads: “To sir Maurice + Lady Dorman. Please accept this as a token of my gratitude for all the encouragement you have always given me”. Book also bears the signature of Arabella Dorman (dated 1998) wh is Sir Maurice and Lady Dorman’s daughter. Bound in red cloth with gilt titling to spine. Dustjacket has some minor tearing to the top right of the spine area and the top of the back cover. Both tears are approximately 1.3cm long. Top front of the dustjacket is also curling outwards. A little tanning to dustjacket, as well as endpapers and the first few pages of the book. Last page has a small tear where it looks as though it can stuck to the inside back cover and was pulled free.Otherwise in good condition and a clean, tight copy. Hardcover.
