Trevelyan And Fedden – Encounters With Malta And Gozo By Lawrence Pavia

Minimum Donation €98.00

As explained in the Foreword written by Philip Trevelyan in 2018, Julian Trevelyan and his wife Mary Fedden ‘would travel to various corners of Europe, using their breaks from teaching at the Royal College of Art to fill drawing books with new material to be turned into paintings when they returned to London. One of the places from which they returned with rich pickings (and which they visited six times) were the extraordinary islands of Gozo and Malta.’ A photographer, Trevelyan goes on to write ‘In my own book about my father’s painting, one of the things that I failed to mention or consider in any depth, was the documentary significance that might have grown from this kind of work. This failure has now been beautifully remedied and given the proper emphasis it deserves in Lawrence Pavia’s book
