The main objective of the book is to provide a comprehensive overview of the cemetery’s historical development, its architectural history and a critical art-historical appraisal of the cemetery complex including the Addolorata Church, the various family chapels and individual funerary monuments. This is the third volume in a series of monographs dedicated to nineteenth-century cemeteries. Contributions are by academics and restoration professionals who have all pursued research on the Addolorata Cemetery.
