Comical, original Norman Thelwell fat pony cartoon book plate taken from a disbound first edition which was published in 1962. This is a genuine vintage print, not a modern reproduction and is in very good with no foxing or stains. Norman Thelwell served in World War II and then went home to England and took art classes. Among other publications, over a 25 year period which ended in 1977, the artist contributed over 1500 cartoons to the satirical magazine ‘Punch’. Thelwell was also a humorous commentator on many subjects, but is mainly known for his wonderful pony drawings
