Norman Thelwell served in World War II and then went home to England and took art classes. Among other publications, over a 25 year period which ended in 1977, the artist contributed over 1500 cartoons to the satirical magazine ‘Punch’. Thelwell was also a humorous commentator on many subjects, but is mainly known for his wonderful pony drawings
