Comical, original Norman Thelwell fat pony, black and white cartoon print on cream paper, from the First Edition “A Leg At Each Corner” 1963. This is a genuine vintage print, not a modern reproduction and is in very good condition with no foxing or stains. With a black base and ivory top, it is ideal for framing either alone or in a group, to make a very amusing and humorous piece of art for any horse or pony lover! Norman Thelwell served in World War II and then went home to England and took art classes. Among other publications, over a 25 year period which ended in 1977, the artist contributed over 1500 cartoons to the satirical magazine ‘Punch’. Thelwell was also a humorous commentator on many subjects, but is mainly known for his wonderful pony drawings
