Unusual Vintage Blue Wooden Sewing Case (Etui) Advertising Sandeman’s Ports And Sherries With Brass Thimble – Circa 1930s

Unusual Sewing Etui with a brass thimble top which pulls off to find a needle case and two tiny wooden cotton bobbins. Little sewing etui cases such as this were given as gifts by the companies producing the goods they advertised. The blue painted wooden case is in good vintage condition and the thread bobbins have the original thread. The thimble brass. Sandeman is a brand of Port and Sherry wines founded in 1790. It’s well known logo (not used here) features a caped man known as ‘The Don’ dressed in a Portuguese student’s cape and a wide traditional Iberian hat. Thimble L:2.5. Overall L:6cm
