Description
Vintage handled evening bag, upcycled and remade by Cathy White.The handle is brass engraved with winged gryphons on the sides and an engraved central flower detail. The original gilt chain is still attached.
The bag itself is of fine woven pink and blue silk stretched over aqua silk and was once part of an antique shawl dating from 1920. The silk is hand beaded with tiny jewels. The interior is lined in matching aqua silk and further embellished with vintage ribbon depicting delicate violet flower and gold braid. Two small Venetian beads finish off the side and the base of the bag is finished with vintage beaded fringe. A vintage and elegant amethyst glass brooch is pinned to the front of the bag where it can remain, or be worn seperately. Bag L:23 x W:17.75cm
