A niece of WWI heroine, Nurse Edith Cavell, the late Miss Kitty Cavell was an amateur and self-taught artist, painting charming naïve still lifes depicting nature and flowers. Much of her work was quietly undertaken at her home in Hertfordshire, continuing until well into her eighties. A very private person, little information is available about Kitty Cavell herself, but she remains highly regarded and fondly remembered in the village where she lived, with her paintings now treasured mementoes
