Antique And Hard To Find Russian Hand Painted Lay – Down Icicle Shaped Scent Bottle – Circa 1900s

Minimum Donation €150.00

An elaborately shaped, pre 1917 Russian Empire scent bottle with hand painted flowers in pink, blue, green and gold on what appears to be two layers of glass – a clear exterior over a white inner layer. The stopper is of clear glass with two faux pearls dangling from a brass chain. A faint perfume still lingers. Could have been intended for a chatelaine. Condition is good but there appears to be a scratch or hairline crack on the interior of the bottle, as shown in the image, but it doesn’t extend to the exterior surface of the bottle. Tarnish to the metal chain, commensurate with age and the paint on the pearls is chipped, along with tiny flecks of paint missing to the flowers. All are noted in the images and unless one is a purist, they certainly don’t detract from the attractiveness of the bottle. It’s pretty! L:10 (with cork) x W:2.0cm (at widest)
