Description

Pre – Owned but no signs of use. It was possible to order goods from the Gamages catalogue speedily and efficiently by mail, cable, telegraph and telephone, and the very highest attention was placed on customer service and satisfaction, with prominent price and quality guarantees, even direct communication with the Managing Director himself being featured in case of complaint. The Gamages Catalogue for 1914 was the last to appear before the outbreak of the First World War on 4th August. Years followed which were to sweep away the comfortable and well – ordered world which the catalogue had existed to serve. It is thus a document of enduring interest and importance and this selection from the pages of the catalogue provide tantalising glimpses of a bygone age. Slight marking to front dustjacket but book is as new. Hardcover. Published by Wordsworth Editions Ltd 1994
