Beautiful large red / purple Sun and Moon shell pendant from the 1970’s with 10k gold leaf trim in an intricate design on a 70cm gold toned serpentine link chain. The top side of the shell is typically smooth and the bottom side white with ridges. The edges on the front of the pendant are trimmed in gold leaf, in the shape of both a band and a scalloped design, with a simple plain gold band on the reverse. In the centre of the pendant, is a design resembling stems ending in two flower blooms and four leaves Clasp works well Pendant L:7 x W:6cm Chain L:37cm

Note: There appears to be some repair work to the top bloom on the left – and a bump of glue where someone may have glued down the gold leaf. There also seems to be a hairline crack in the top 1/3 of the shell which was also sealed, but can only be seen when turned over and examined closely. This notwithstanding, it is a lovely and unique piece of jewellery
