All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The globe is highly reflective and quite diffiult to photograph. This mid-century vanity is much more appealing than the images show. The mirror gives a good reflection and has some age related marks. The original sifter is included and so this compact is suitable for use with all loose face powder. The compact and sifter appear to be free of powder residue. The powder well is signed PYGMALION MADE IN ENGLAND PATENT PENDING D:5.2cm Weight: 77.2grams
