A delightful and unusual 1950s musical powder box with Ancient Greece themed enamelled scenes. The music box plays ‘The Anniversary Song’ very well indeed. This item has not been used with powder and so the original puff and sifter are pristine. The lacquered brass has a deep golden patina and will not require any cleaning. The base and interior have a golden textured finish and the bevelled mirror gives an excellent, clear reflection

The inner lid is signed ‘Clover’ in elegant script and the puff is also signed and stamped with the gilt Clover trademark. The original presentation box and pouch are also in very good condition. The box is signed ‘CLOVER TRADE MARK Musical Compact’. The base of the box is stamped ‘Anniversary Song’. The inner lid has a scratch on it which does not spoil the enjoyment of this mid-century vanity and is only mentioned for the sake of accuracy L:8.25 x W:5.5cm Weight:153.4 grams
