Description

Bound in brown cloth with gilt titling to spine and a gilt frame around the front board. No dustjacket. Book has a label of booksellers Gilbert & Field of 67 Moorgate Street, London which operated from the mid-1870s to around 1914. There is some edgewear to the front edges of both boards and some to the top edges, but otherwise book is in good condition with clean pages and a little tanning to top edge – especially considering this book is almost 140 years old. There is also some deckle edging, most notably to top edge. Original owner has signed in ink on the top centre of the second page. Hardcover. Published by Macmillan 1884
