An interesting work on naval history, reviewing the precarious situation of Malta following Italy’s declaration of war on Britain in 1940, and the successful Pedestal Convoy of August 1942. A review of air-power against sea-power, specifically looking at the part played by the Merchant Navy. Each volume features eight maps and other black and white illustrations in text. Written by Richard Woodman, notable English novelist and naval historian, known for his novels about the career of Nathaniel Drinkwater. Minor vertical creasing to the spine of the uncorrected proof, as usual. Signed by the author to the title page of the uncorrected proof, undated.
