Minimum Donation €30.00

As bombs pound Malta to dust, Father Salvatore–a simple priest, or kappillan, serving the poor–finds himself caught in the drama of World War Two. In the fragile safety of catacombs revealed by the explosions, he tends to the flood of homeless, starving, and frightened people seeking shelter, giving messages of inspiration and hope. His story, and that of the island, unfold in superbly graphic images of six days during the siege

Description

Bound in brown cloth with gilt titling to spine. Dustjacket is clipped and some tears have been repaired with tape, and there is some sun bleaching to the spine area. There is an inscription on the inside back cover dated 1973. It appears that the book may have been slightly wet at some point as there is some colour staining to the endpapers with what looks like colour from the boards both at the back and front. The staining is however minor. Bumping to the corners and tanning to the edges and pages. Hardcover. Published by Cassell 1973
