FIRST EDITION. SIGNED: Briefed To Attack – Malta’s Part In African Victory By Air Marshall Sir Hugh Lloyd And Foreword By Lord Tedder

Minimum Donation €146.00

‘Briefed to Attack’ tells the story of Malta’s very great part in the victory in Africa. The battle over the sea line of Axis communications brought about that other battle: the battle over Malta herself, when she had to fight for her very existence. It is a tremendous story of great courage against heavy odds and as a single incident it is possibly the most valiant and glorious of the whole war. The Island not only covered itself with honour in defence, but carried the war right into the vitals of the enemy. The book is a great narrative of noble endeavour, written simply without any technical jargon by no less a person than the man who personally conducted these operations. Signed by the author to the title page ‘Squadron Leader J. E. Raw-Rees, DFC. To Jim – In sincere appreciation of your magnificent evening when President R.A.F.A. Aberystwyth – Hugh Lloyd – 1st June 1967’
