First edition of this beautifully illustrated travelogue for Malta, described by Frederick W. Ryan, which gives the reader a detailed explanation of the archipelago’s history and social customs. Illustrated with a coloured frontispiece, one folding map, and nineteen colour plates. Painted by Vittorio Boron. Collated, complete. Eight pages of publisher’s adverts to the rear. Externally, smart and bright. Some light bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and a little wear to the extremities. Minor rubbing to the boards and spine. Some light marks to the boards. Ex-library book- there is a blind stamp on the rear end paper noting ‘Neatham Hill Library’. Internally generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some spots. Small closed tear to the folding map with some light spots. It is interesting to note that two streets in San Pawl Tat-Targa (Naxxar) are named after both Ryan and Boron. Overall very good condition.
