Elizabeth Our Queen By Richard Dimbleby

Minimum Donation €5.00

Exerpt from the introduction: I have not presumed to write a biography, or ‘intimate’ story of Her Majesty. Instead, I have tried to tell her story against its splendid background, relating it always to the significance of the monarchy. This is, if you like, a book about the Sovereign, rather than a book about Queen Elizabeth. It gives some account of the Protestant Succession which put the second Elizabeth on the throne. It describes the careful, arduous training that a future queen must undergo, and it attempts, under the title of the ‘Mantle of Monarchy’ to show the significance of the Sovereign in the life of Britain and the Commonwealth today
