Antique Carved Coquilla Nut Thimble Holder Or Rosary Case – Circa Early 1900s
Minimum Donation €41.75
A beautifully carved coquille nut case which screws tightly together to contain a thimble, or as has been suggested, perhaps a rosary. Or maybe it was even intended as a pomander, with the pierced design allowing sweet smells to be easily accessible! In very good condition with only a tiny crack running along a flaw line in the nut itself. Found inside the nut is an old piece of torn paper with writing. Part of a treasured message? L:7 x W:4.5 x D:13.8cm
