A charming pressed glass frost-finish toothpick holder with a clear bead base ring. Two youthful figures dressed in robes and wearing vine leaf headbands hold up a coopered wooden barrel. Originally intended as a receptacle for toothpicks, it would make a very pretty vase for posies or bonbons. There are one or two small nicks to the inner base ring, some light surface wear but nothing further found. Circa 1880-90. Relief Baccarat mark to the under-base H:8.5 x W:12 x D:8.5cm
