Intricate buckle, hallmarked Birmingham 1900, makes this a covetable addition to your wardrobe. Wonderful foliate Art Nouveau design with engraved details, At some time it has been hand sewn onto a thick, dark navy elasticated waist belt and could continue to be worn as is, or the buckle could be removed and used for a different sort of belt. Possibly part of a nurse or matron’s uniform from days gone by. In good vintage condition with some patina to the silver commensurate with age, but it polishes up well. The hallmarks are clear.
